I ve attached journal log
CuriousGeoParticipant… although mt4 journal was empty upon launch this morning, I can see in my hosting journal that a few trades opened during the night.
When I request a journal log in mt4, I can see my history but there is a gap between yesterday evening and this morning.
CuriousGeoParticipantHi Asser
If my calculation is right, if you generated an EA with cot of 284 based on 4065 x 1day bars, it would mean you’d have 1 trade every 14 days on average.

Previously I was able to run EA on a seperate browser and generate strategies during the day while working on other chrome tabs on my laptop. Currently as it stands I have to generate them during the night leaving the EA browser active…

CuriousGeoParticipantCuriousGeoParticipantCuriousGeoParticipantHi Petko
I keep having discrepancies in my live and demo account results. Both are Dukascopy accounts. Both run on a virtual server.
If you look at below EURUSD EA (10106004) it opened a trade on a live account at 10:11am on 17/09/2020 and was closed by a stop loss at 10:06 on 18/09/2020. In comparison the same EA opened a trade on a demo account at 10.15 on 17/09/2020 and took profit at 10:54 on 17/09/2020.
CuriousGeoParticipantTrue. 1000 bucks won’t generate you a monthly income to live on (only way it can be done is taking a huge risk 🙂
Nonetheless it’s a safe way to make a consistant profit and you can easily double your input (if not more) within a few months …and that gives you a fair idea of what can be achieved with a greater balance.
CuriousGeoParticipantWouldn’t go over 0.01 lot on a $1000 account.
I would place a few EA portfolios (of different currency pairs) on a demo account first and see which individual EAs would perform the best (select winners and pause other underperforming EAs).
Could diversify in instrument selection as below:
2 x EUR/USD
2 x USD/JPY
2 x EUR/JPY
or ONE OF EACH
Works for me 🙂
CuriousGeoParticipantHi Animti,
I personally would find it too risky. I d recommend starting out with 5-10 best performing EAs with a low DD%.
CuriousGeoParticipantHi again
Indeed, I can see a significant difference in number of strategies calculated if only use 30000 of bars. Somehow I was convinced the more history bars the better.
Do you still find most succesful ones on M15 – M60 timeframes?
CuriousGeoParticipantHi
Deleting history data for unused instruments didn’t work…
CuriousGeoParticipantHi
I have approx 20 instruments with 200000 bars data each. Is it worth deleting the data for pairs I don’t use?
