RomanParticipant
Haha Andi agreed!
RomanParticipantThank you Petko, I believe the next 30 days will be much better knowing what I know now. Even though you did warn us in your trainings haha. Sometimes I let my customers run into walls themselves before they turn around and listen to me as well. Lessons learned for sure!
RomanParticipantI too have struggled with FSB, haven’t really used it in over 6 months due to my laptop practically crashing when I do (purchased December 2017). EA studio however has given me a lot of insight on what kind of strategies I like to use. Once I get my new PC up and running in the next month, I’ll be abusing FSB to try and duplicate similar Acceptance Criteria I like in EA Studios. I would recommend turning your attention to EA studio for now, figure out what search styles you like (since it’s way faster than FSB) then transition back to FSB for the higher robustness strats you can find there. This is currently what I’ve been doing myself. Buenas Suertes!!
RomanParticipant@Andi – Yes I figured since I cant trade while sleeping or at work I might as well run it all night and day, then spend a few hours evaluating and adding to demo.
RomanParticipantHey Jac, which are you liking better. Strats with stop losses or without them?
RomanParticipantI’m currently testing from 2005 on the H1 for a few of my pairs (roughly 90k bars). I’ve been looking into using 20% OOS and then keeping the last 6 months of data in my back pocket as a final test after Monte Carlo. Today I just threw some GBPJPY strats on the demo account for testing, will let you know how it goes!
P.S. only 2 made it onto my demo account after 20 hours of scanning. Only the strategies that passed the 20% OOS and the 6 months visual check.
RomanParticipantDommech,
That honestly sounds like a Crap Ton of work LOL. I’m working on a few ideas myself, but managing 10+ accounts is not one of them haha. I want a max of 4 accounts 2 demo, 2 live with only two different brokers. I work 60 hours a week and Gym 8 hours, so I wont even attempt to manage 2 more accounts until I’m trading full time. Keep us updated on your testing. I plan to balance out (bring the account back to starting balance) once a year to bring it back to the US for safekeeping. Last thing I need is a 6-7 figure account hanging out in a country I cant fight in for my money.
RomanParticipant@Jacpin – Thanks for sharing your successes! I’ve actually taken a page out of your book from the last thread we communicated on about the win rates. Just went live last week with 5 ea’s myself and am already up 11%. My portfolio consists of EURUSD, USDJPY, GBPJPY, EURGBP, GBPUSD, XAUUSD, DAX, and soon WTI. Currently running reactor for Dax on the H1. I agree with you on keeping it simple with the portfolio. Size up on what’s working instead of overloading yourself with hundreds of EA’s to babysit. Keep it up my good sir!
RomanParticipantI’ve been collecting live data instead of demo to train on. Hard to get enough as with any broker but so far so good.

I am currently trading live with an EA Petko supplied in September with a 40% win rate to help stretch my tolerance levels. Going good so far after giving it 20 demo trades before the live account. 29 trades since September Net profit of $398, 13 W’s 16 L’s.
RomanParticipantAndi,
You’ll have to widen your acceptance criteria to find more than the 3 or run it longer. I run the reactor before going to bed and then see what it found after I get home from work (about 20 hours total). Hope this helps?
January 9, 2019 at 18:17 in reply to: How satisfied are you with the automated trading software EA Studio? #8322RomanParticipantChingi,
Welcome to the family. At the end of the day EA Studio and FSB are tools (I sound like Popov…). At the end of the day it takes time to get familiar with how to use them the right way. Take your time, ask lots of questions, you’ll find Petko to be a Very great resource if you get stuck.
RomanParticipantI just ran it for 20 hours and it came back with nothing… 🙁

Interesting you posted this, I was going to try and see if I could find better strategies by running long/short only entries. Have you been demo testing this yet?
